Kinanda Fest 1 - 12/12/2009

KinandaFest 1 was thrilling, electrifying and the culmination of hard work and dream to create a space where great Kenyan art takes centre stage. The world-class performances by soulful divas: Atemi, Maia & Dela, not forgetting fine jazz pianist Aaron Rimbui. The super bands Kanji and the Villagers, Ma3 and Sauti Sol all worked their magic and kept the crowd asking for more.

Freshly Ground did not disappoint and put up arguably one of the best performances we have seen in these parts; it is only at the end when we had to walk thought the wet Uhuru Gardens grounds that we realized it had been raining!
Our special shout goes to DJ Space for the awesome set he played.

KinandaFest 1 numbers
100 T-shirts, won mainly by the
40 bouncers and
20 uniformed police taking care of
400 people who ate
100 burgers which sold out in less than
1 hr…….! As they watched
7 bands; that performed on
1 stage over a period of
70 umbrellas and
2 tents and
1,  500KVA generator kept the show rocking when an average
4mm of Rain came down!
