KinandaFest 11

We can't believe that another month has quickly flown by and we are back again for another exciting edition of the Nairobi Kinanda Arts Festival.

Before we get to what we have in store for Kinanda 11, have a look at some of the highlights from the Kinandafest10, the January edition.

The February edition of the Nairobi Kinanda Arts festival is back at the KARI grounds and highlight of Kindafest11 is undeniably the mega world music rising star Makadem.

Makadem also known as the Ohanglaman is of one Kenya’s most talented and promising performing artist. His command on stage, charisma and powerful vocal delivery, spiced with satire has made many describe him as Kenya’s own Fela Kuti. He has successfully fused different genres of music from Kenya, Africa and the world with his native Luo Benga music. Makadem uses his humorous and witty lyrics to address deep socio-economic struggles in modern day Kenya. He has toured in Morocco and Europe and performed in regional festivals including Sauti za Busara (Zanzibar), Bayimba (Uganda) and Fest’Horn (Djibouti). He has shared the stage with top international artists including, Gregory isaacs, mighty Culture, Glen Washington, Baaba Maal, Mahotella Queens and Lokua Kanza to mention but a few.

The #kinandafest11 will also feature great music from Adawnage, jazz maestro Kombo , soulful singer Ziki as well as the upcoming music of Ka-hawa and Mumela

9 editions, and counting! How time flies! We have you to thank for this success!

It's 2012,  and we are back with the 10th edition of your favorite monthly fest. The October edition (Kinanda Fest 9)  saw us relocate to the KARI grounds, and it was absolutely amazing. Here's a video recap of the 'Tumehama Edition'.

We are particularly excited about this particular edition that sees us introduce yet another aspect of art: film, and will see us feature two locally produced short films!

Ladies and gentlemen, behold, Kinanda Fest 10.
